About

Hi. I’m Jill – mom, wife, teacher, and entrepreneur. As a teacher-mom, I know how hard it can be, especially right now. Sometimes you just feel as if you’re failing everyone – your students, your own family, AND yourself. That’s how I felt in 2011, when I resigned from my dream teaching job because it all got to be too much. For 2 years, I stayed home with my preschoolers and built a small business. But when things calmed down, I was right back in the classroom, and more excited about teaching than ever. And this year, I moved with my family to gorgeous Stavanger, Norway, to fulfill a dream of giving our family an overseas adventure. I’ve been so lucky to have these options, but I never would have been able to do it, if I hadn’t mastered my money.

Your turn

But when I talk to my teacher friends back in The States (and I’ve got a LOT of them, because, well, teachers are just some of the best people on the planet), what I’m hearing is pain, frustration, and disgust. The stress of being in a profession that is the nation’s punching bag is really getting to them. Even worse, some of them think they can’t leave teaching – even to preserve their own mental or physical health – because “I just can’t afford to right now.” Student loans, car payments, house payments, and groceries don’t just go away because your job feels like it’s killing you.

Well, I can’t change the political leaders or the administration’s test obsession, but I can do money. AND I’m a teacher. Guess what that means? If you want to master your money so you can be master of your life, we’ve got this. From side hustles, to paying off debt, to just having a savings account that makes you feel like you’ve got options, you can totally do this, and I can help you every step of the way.

About YOU

And that’s what I want for you. If you want to leave teaching forever, I want to help you do that in a financially responsible way. If you want to earn a little money with a side-hustle that lights you up instead of wearing you down, then I want to help you find and develop that side-hustle. If you just want to give yourself some options in case you suddenly have the principal from hell, I’m down with that. This blog is for YOU, helping you to feel confident and happy about your money. Helping you to control and direct your money to get you to the goals that matter most for you.

So if you have questions, or you want to know more about a specific topic, let me know. I’ll do my best to share what I know, or find out the answers if I don’t. Thanks for reading! And remember – we’ve got this!
